What on Earth do polymer clay, sweet potatoes, and Steampunk have in common?
So what do polymer clay, sweet potatoes, and Steampunk have in common? Honestly not much, but I look at the world as a polymer clay artist and see ordinary, every day objects as texture tools for my clay. Last week I purchased a bag of sweet potatoes at ALDI and the mesh bag immediatley struck me as useful for a texture but being ill the last few days kept me away from clay. Feeling much better today, I knew what I wanted to do with the mesh. My Steampunk Santa’s coat needs a texture so here are some pictures.
I love the way it looks so a piece of mesh will be included in my Steampunk kit that will ship Friday.
Another surprise this morning
I had another surprise this morning when the urgent care center called to see if I was feeling better. The last time I remember a doctor making a housecall was when I was a junior in high school and my appendix ruptured. Of course, this was not a housecall but it was very nice to receive the call. I am on the mend and hope to be back working with clay in a few days.
